Membership

The Society has six categories of members namely.

1. Family Life Members:

Any Kerala Catholic (Husband and Wife / Individual), settled in Chennai City or its suburbs, with good standing in society, and aged 25 years or more shall eligible. In the case of couples, both husband and wife will individually enjoy all privileges of membership including voting rights. In the case of an Individual Member, when he / she get married, the spouse becomes a member automatically

One time Membership - Rs. 10,000/-,

Annual Subscription - Rs. 10,000/- pa

Children of Family Life Members may be admitted as Family Life Members on payment of 50% of the then prevailing Entrance Fee, subject to their satisfying all other eligibility criteria for Membership.

2. Service Members:

Any Kerala Catholic, aged 25 years or more and residing in Chennai City and or its suburbs, temporarily on employment / service shall be eligible.

Duration of Service Membership shall initially be three years which may be extended for a further period of not more than three years.

The maximum number of Service Members shall not exceed 25% of Family Life Members.

Service Members will have voting rights, but will not be eligible to hold any office

One time Membership - Rs. 5,000/-

Annual Subscription - Rs. 10,000/- pa.

3. Honorary Members:

The Governing Council may, at its discretion, confer Honorary Membership to a Kerala Catholic, in recognition of his / her distinguished services to the Society or to the Community. Honorary Members shall have no voting rights.

4. Lifetime Members:

One time payment of Rs.1,00,000/- and they need not pay the annual subscriptions. They enjoy the privileges similar to Family Life Members.

5. Members at large:

Any member who is suffering from prolonged illness or changes his residence away from Chennai for more than one financial year may apply for “Members at Large” status for consideration of the Governing Council. If approved, the member shall pay 20% of the annual subscription to keep the membership in the society and to be eligible to continue in the mailing list.

The membership shall be by invitation only. Every proposal of membership, in the prescribed format, may be forwarded to the Secretary for consideration of the Governing Council duly proposed by an existing member.

6. Single Member :

In the event of one of the spouse's passing away the other spouse becomes a single member and continues to enjoy the benefits of the society by paying 60% of the annual subscription fee.
